great information. thanks... but to add my experiance on buying a used phone... i bought a nokia 3g phone almost checked everything mentioned here other than a 3g call...... which i realized after bringing home that 3g network not responding ......after everything i noticed that its an american version loaded in a locally compatible phone...... there both RM number and software version were changed as of american version [ originally it is not made for american version but user had changed it]......here i didnt get a proper reason from the seller as he also got it as a used one......so my phone is now in a repair shop for software change but the technician believes that there had been a repair to change a particular hardware that might have led the previous user to change software versions accordingly......now i risk 3g facility as it is a smart phone.....a possible loss of money......SO CHECK 3G STATUS + A VIDEO CALL IF AVAILABLE + AT LEAST 3G SIGNAL BARS WHEN YOU BUY A 3G PHONE
